BooBot

About

BooBot is a programmable VR robot, developed to explore the use of custom VR solutions within education. It is currently in beta version and going through an application to be on the AppLab.

What can BooBot do?

BooBot cannot do a lot. It can move forwards, turn left or right, set and add to a variable, compare two variables, jump to a different piece of code, test the ground and dig the ground. Oh, and it can blow up (well, turn red) when you try to do something impossible.

How can I program BooBot?

Programming is through a bespoke assembly-style language. Each line is an instruction and consists of an optional label, a colon, and a command. A command is an operation followed by 0..2 operands.

The basic process is you program on the program page, get the ID from the headset, enter it into the program page and press save. The headset can then pull down the code and run it.

See our Programming Guide for more details on how program BooBot.

Future?

Now BooBot is released on the alpha channel and seems pretty stable, there are a number of features which may or may not enter future versions.
